Abd is a recipient of St Leonard's Postgraduate College Doctoral Scholarship to research the development of a sociotechnical system for collaborative volunteer editing, which contributes to filling gaps in the free online knowledge content. He finished his MSc degree in Management and Information Technology at the University of St Andrews. His MSc research aimed at conducting a System Analysis for an Online Volunteering Collaborative Translation Platform that Supports Translating Wikipedia Articles. Previously, he graduated from the Computer Engineering department of the Arab Academy (AASTMT). Abd’s goal is to combine the skills that he has gained through academia with the skills and knowledge that he gained during his previous posts to pursue starting a social enterprise aimed at supporting developing countries’ students.Abd believes in maintaining a healthy balance in three vital areas of his life: professional success, excellence in sport and connecting with people.
