SFC: Smart Tourism
Nov 2015: If you have come to this page due to hearing Aaron talk at an event please note he will be updating this page with links to all the concepts covered in his slides.
Professor Quigley along with colleagues in the Universities of Edinburgh, Robert Gordon, Glasgow and Aberdeen have been awarded a Scottish Funding Council grant called “Smart Tourism” to support three-way collaboration between problem holders (with information assets in culture and heritage), companies (servicing the tourism sector), and ourselves as academics (with mature technology solutions). Along with applied research projects we also aim to introduce network activities connecting these communities and overall to help Scottish SMEs grow their products, processes and services, and to develop new businesses.
Specific projects we have had funded under this include:
- SMART: Scotland’s Museums Augmented Reality Tourism
- LADDIE : Large Augmented Digital Displays for Interactive Experience
