Alejandro Samboy

Alejandro Samboy has worked for the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic since 2007, as part of the Educational Technology team. Most of his work has been focused on the design and development of Educando.edu.do, the main educational website of the same country. He has also worked in the creation of different educational apps for mobile platforms, and has helped to train school teachers of his country in the use of information and communications technologies in the classroom.
He holds a degree in Information Systems Engineering from the APEC University, and is currently working on his dissertation in order to obtain a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of St Andrews. He was able to do this master’s degree thanks to a Chevening Award, granted by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the UK.
His dissertation is focused on one-handed interactions with wearable devices, in which he explores new interactions of this type with smartwatches and potentially any wrist worn device.
